At Absolute Domestics,
We Keep Your Home Clean,
So You Can Enjoy More
Time for What Matters

Trusted, fully vetted household cleaners across Australia and
New Zealand, delivering consistent, high-quality care every time.

Our Mission

Our mission at Absolute Domestics is to make your life easier by removing the burden of domestic cleaning and giving you back your time, peace of mind, and mental space.

We understand that life is busy. Between work, family, health, and everything else competing for your attention, keeping on top of household cleaning can quickly become overwhelming. You shouldn’t have to choose between a clean home and the things that truly matter to you.

For over 30 years, we’ve helped households across Australia and New Zealand feel supported, cared for, and in control of their homes by connecting them with trusted, thoroughly vetted domestic cleaning professionals. Our service is built on reliability, personal care, and the belief that a clean home should make life feel lighter.

Behind every clean is decades of experience, a rigorous vetting and matching process, and a dedicated local support team focused on getting the details right. We care just as deeply about our cleaners as we do our clients, because when our people are supported, the quality of service speaks for itself. That commitment has guided every step of our journey, from our earliest days to where we stand today.

Our Journey:
Over 30 Years of Trusted Expertise in
Domestic Cleaning

1993

Started in Our Family Rumpus Room

Absolute Domestics began in our family rumpus room, back when we interviewed cleaners in the laundry, and every process was done the old-fashioned way: a card file box, a pencil and an eraser. No joke! We started with just five cleaners and one small ad in the Quest Newspaper in Carindale, and took our very first booking in April 1993.

1990s

Mastering Every Detail Before Technology

With no internet, texting, email, or smartphones, all operations relied on manual processes. The manual systems taught us precision, discipline, and extraordinary organisation.

“The landline rang at all hours, and Joy would dive for the phone to secure new bookings. Hundreds of cleaner applications arrived by post, sorted late at night at the kitchen table as we increased our advertising for new clients in the local newspapers across Brisbane.” – Vicki

Late
1990s

Building Our First CRM to Deliver Reliable Support Nationwide

As the client base grew, we built our first custom CRM, a step into technology long before small businesses commonly used it.

We expanded across all States in Australia and soon began operating in every Metropolitan City and Major Regional areas.

2003

Establishing a Dedicated Office to Serve Clients Faster and Smarter

We purchased our first office on Gordon Street in Ormiston, and eventually, after 9 years, we were using every inch of space, including the garage. It was time to shift to bigger premises. It was here that paper files, landlines, and manual processes were replaced with cloud-based tools, automated workflows, and digital communication.

2004

Expanding Our Care and Expertise Into New Zealand

Absolute Domestics expanded, servicing major areas across New Zealand.

2007

Handling up to 6,000 Calls a Day with Our Team’s Dedication

The business was powered entirely by phone, eventually receiving around 6,000 inbound and outbound calls a day. Demand exploded, and our team rose to the challenge.

2008

Thriving Amid the Global Financial Crisis Through Commitment

During the GFC, when many businesses contracted, Absolute Domestics grew. More people were looking for work, allowing us to recruit exceptional cleaners. As our clients worked longer hours under financial pressure, demand for housework help rose sharply. It was an unlikely period of strong growth and opportunity.

2009

Launching Clean Homes to Deliver Trusted, Specialist Care

We launched Clean Homes to support NDIS, Aged Care, DVA, and insurance clients. This division operated very differently from Absolute Domestics and required its own governance framework, invoicing procedures and specialised payment processes.

2010

Founding Housekeeping College to Develop Skilled Cleaners and Elevate Service Standards

Housekeeping College launched as an Australian-first training initiative, with two QLD locations (Woodridge and Geebung). We developed our own Certificate III in Domestic Cleaning & Housekeeping, gaining approval from the Department of Employment, Training and Education. A deal was struck with TAFE, and more than 1,800 previously unskilled people gained qualifications, confidence, and employment pathways through this program.

2013

Doubling Our Space to Meet the Growing Trust of More Families

A move to Victoria Point Shopping Centre gave us more space and visibility. Rapid growth meant we doubled our leased space within three years. It was here that our recruitment, marketing, admin, and customer service teams reached their largest size ever, supporting a thriving national contractor network and client base. The Victoria Point office had over 90 staff across recruitment, admin, marketing, and coordination.

2014

Caring for Our Cleaners Through Personal Accident Protection

We recognised that cleaners deserved personal accident protection and became the only company in Australia providing this level of care to domestic cleaners.

2017

Vicki’s Leadership Strengthens Our New Zealand Team

New Zealand operations were now under the leadership of Vicki and her husband, Adrian.

Committed to Serving Our Communities During the Pandemic

It was an unforgettable few years that tested our resilience and adaptability like never before. We lost half our client base in just ten weeks and genuinely wondered if we’d ever bounce back. But we did – and more. By the end of 2024, we had rebuilt to our pre-COVID numbers and kept growing, stronger than ever.

We transitioned to a new updated CRM, strengthened online communication, and introduced early automation. During this time, we also doubled down on SEO and Google Ads, becoming a digital leader in our industry. Throughout COVID, we maintained operations nationwide, supporting both cleaners and clients through one of the most challenging eras for service-based businesses. Despite border closures, lockdowns, and staffing shortages, we remained stable, compliant, and committed to serving our communities.

Staying True to the Trust, Consistency, and High Standards That Serve You

We’ll keep modernising our systems and using AI to simplify things like onboarding, scheduling and communication, so our team can focus on delivering great service and support. Our cleaners will stay at the centre of everything we do, with more training, safety and wellbeing resources, better communication tools and clearer pathways for those who want to move into NDIS, aged care or specialist roles.

We’re also lifting the client experience by improving communication, speeding up response times and strengthening our scheduling and quality processes, making every interaction smoother and more reliable across Australia and New Zealand. With Australia’s ageing population, we’ll continue growing our senior home-support services, helping older Australians stay safe, comfortable and independent at home for longer.

We’ll keep evolving the Absolute Domestics brand, modernising our look and feel while staying true to the trust, consistency and high standards we’ve upheld for over 30 years. We’re excited for this next chapter!

I feel supported, not managed.

“I’ve worked on my own before, and it was stressful dealing with everything myself. With Absolute Domestics, I still choose my hours and clients, but I always have someone to help if something comes up. It feels like I’m running my own business without being left on my own.”

The flexibility actually works in real life.

“I’m a mum and I needed work that fits around school hours. Absolute Domestics made that possible. I can take school holidays off, increase my work when I want, and never feel pressured to do more than I’m comfortable with.”
